Up, Up and Away...

Pressing on Toward the Goal

Philippians 3:12-14

"12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."

Living historically can be devastating especially if every decision we make is based on it. It will drag us backward to a point where we become totally ineffective in this world for Christ.

But learning from the past is another matter ALL together. As it can inspire us to reach higher heights and dream bigger dreams and remind us of how faithful our Loving Father is. The Israelites were constantly told to build alters as a way of remembering God's goodness to them and his promises that were still to come.

One such alter came in the form of a vision to both Amanda and myself. When we were young teenagers, at separate times and in separate places, during our quiet times we saw the word "Colorado" painted on the ceiling and wall. Nothing else. No words of wisdom, no special instructions, nothing... just the word.

To cut a long story short, here we are, 19 yrs later, on our way to a country that has intrigued and drawn us for many years.

We're pressing on toward the goal for which God has called us heavenward "in Christ Jesus".

This is not only some high spiritual journey, it's also fun. Our Father, in His almighty wisdom and playfulness has blessed us as we set out on our adventure that was in many ways spoken over us for many years.

We hope as we share our insights and experiences that you will find them both entertaining and enlightening.
